Together with the dancers Ambra Peyer and Alice D'Angelo I had the pleasure to perform "Feed the Dancers".
It's a piece by Marie Alexis that we performed as Compagnie O at the "7/11 Performance Supermarket" at Theater Neumarkt in Zürich.
It felt amazing to perform in front of a live audience together with other dancers after this long Corona break! We were dancing in a see-through cube and two audience members on three sides of the cube. They only got to see us when they put a pre-bought jeton into the machine. Each audience pair got to watch 15minutes of the performance until the curtain closed and the next two people were let in. We were improvising for 45min in total, engaging with a well-established movement practice, that lets the audience co-choreograph the performance. They really loved it!
The concept that Marie Alexis, artistic director of Compagnie O wrote, fit so perfectly to the Corona-conform space Theater Neumarkt had installed.
One of these moments when it all just clicks, works, is fun, empowering and inspiring at the same time. One of these moments that make me love my work so deeply.
